The Universities and Colleges Premier League (UCPL) was founded in early 2024 with the vision of uniting state, local, and private higher educational institutions through sports and academic excellence. Guided by its motto "Futurum Creare Nos" or "We Create Our Future," the league upholds the values of collaboration, camaraderie, and fair play.

The first season opened in February 2024 with events in basketball and volleyball, held across member campuses in a home and away format that promoted school pride and community participation. Among its participating institutions are Holy Angel University, Regis Marie College, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Makati, and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig.

Since its establishment, UCPL has remained committed to empowering student athletes, fostering unity among schools, and shaping a future where sports and education thrive together.
